As part of the Serbia's efforts to join the EU, the project will support the on-going activities within the administration for reserves of energy-generation products concerning the optimal management of mandatory oil stocks. Indeed, the Directive 2009/119/EC of 14 September 2009 imposes an obligation on Member States to maintain minimum stocks of crude oil and/or petroleum product in order to enhance security of supply for the European Union as a whole and for each Member State, with special reference to the availability of oil in the event of a crisis.
