Connecting Europe Facility – Energy, forthcoming calls 2016
The European Commission published the 2016 CEF Energy draft Work Programme
The Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) is a key EU funding instrument to promote growth, jobs and competitiveness through targeted infrastructure investment at European level. It supports the development of high performing, sustainable and efficiently interconnected trans-European networks in the fields of transport, energy and digital services. CEF investments fill the missing links in Europe's energy, transport and digital backbone.
The 2016 CEF Energy draft Work Programme foresees up to 800 million of euros for:
- two calls for proposals (800 million of euros),
- procurement for programme support actions, experts evaluating proposals (1.950.000 euros).
The 2016 CEF Energy calls for proposals will finance projects of common interest in the energy sector, namely in electricity and gas:
- first call: from mid-March 2016 until the end of April 2016 (200 million of euros);
- second call: from June 2016 until October 2016 (600 million of euros).
The adoption and the publication of the Work Programme by the European Commission is expected by mid-March 2016.
